Parking at Metrorail stations
Nineteen of the 23 Metrorail stations have park-and-ride facilities, and the county counts more than 9,300 marked spaces between them. The big ones are at the southern end of the line, where most commuters join: Dadeland North alone holds close to two thousand cars.

What Metrorail parking costs
One flat fee per day, wherever you park, and a cheaper monthly permit if you already hold a pass. The only way to pay more than the sticker price is to use the phone app.
A day
$4.50
Paid at any station ticket machine. Through the PayByPhone app it is $4.85 instead, and text alerts add 15c each if you switch them on.
A month, with a pass
$11.25
A digital permit sold only alongside a 1-Month Pass — you buy the two together at the vending machine. Golden and Patriot Passport holders get the same price through the Transit Store.
A month, on its own
$45
Monthly parking without a monthly transit pass. Needs an EASY Card or EASY Ticket, since the permit is tied to one.
Opening hours, and the overnight question
The car parks do not keep the same hours as the trains, and only three of them will let you leave a car overnight — the fact that decides whether you can park here for a flight.
When the garages are open
- 5:00 am to 1:00 am, seven days a week — an hour after the last train, not with it.
- Earlington Heights is the exception: its garage is the only one reachable 24 hours a day.
- Okeechobee and South Miami allow overnight parking but only let you in during opening hours, so a late flight home means getting there before 1:00 am.
Leaving the car overnight
- Allowed at Earlington Heights, Okeechobee and South Miami only.
- $4 per night on top of the daily fee, for up to 30 nights.
- Book it by phone on 1-888-680-7275 — the station machines sell the day, not the night.
- Anywhere else, a car left overnight is a car left in a lot that closes at 1:00 am.
The rules that get cars ticketed
None of these is obvious from the sign at the entrance, and each one is written down by Miami-Dade.
You have to actually ride
Metrorail car parks are for transit customers. Parking there and walking off to something else is a ticket, not a bargain — you must board Metrorail or Metrobus.
Head first, in a marked space
Miami-Dade does not allow back-in parking at its garages. Park nose first, inside the lines.
Note your space number
Daily parking is paid by space at the ticket machine, so read the number before you walk off. There is no receipt to put in the windscreen and no need to go back to the car.
Accessible spaces are free
A state-issued disability parking permit or plate parks free in the spaces marked for it, with no daily fee to pay.
Park & Ride lots cost nothing
The fee is a Metrorail thing. Parking at a Metrobus Park & Ride is always free, which is worth knowing if one sits near your station.
One plate active at a time
A monthly permit is digital and read from your number plate. You can register several vehicles, but only one can be active, and activation needs a Transit Store account.
