About Culmer
Culmer is a walk-up station in Overtown, on NW 11th Street west of I-95, and it is the one stop in this part of the network with no parking whatsoever — no garage, no lot. Everyone arrives on foot or by bus, which suits a station set among the neighborhood’s housing, churches and small businesses rather than beside a highway ramp.
It is also one of the quickest hops into the center: four minutes to Government Center, where Metromover and the downtown bus routes take over. Both Metrorail lines run through, so a weekday train comes roughly every eight minutes and a weekend one about every 20. UHealth/Jackson, the stop for the hospital district, is two minutes north; Historic Overtown/Lyric Theatre, the connection for Brightline intercity trains, is two minutes south. The platform carries commissioned public artwork.

Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
Culmer sits at the western edge of Overtown, the historically Black neighborhood that grew up beside the railroad and still holds the Lyric Theater and the churches along NW 2nd Avenue, one stop south. West of the station the Miami River curves past the Spring Garden district and the working boatyards along the water. This is also the closest Metrorail station to loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins, although the ballpark is not a short walk. The Civic Center hospitals are one stop north.

No. Culmer has neither a garage nor a surface lot, so it is not a park-and-ride station. If you are driving in from outside the city, park at one of the outer stations on either line and ride the rest of the way.
It is the nearest Metrorail station to loanDepot Park, but the ballpark is west of the station and not within an easy walk for everyone. Check the county’s game-day bus and shuttle information before you travel.
Four minutes to Government Center, which is about as quick as Metrorail gets. From there Metromover, which is free, carries on into Brickell and the arena district.
Yes. Culmer, like every Metrorail station, has elevator access to the platform and level boarding onto the trains. The reduced fare of $1.10 applies to eligible riders with the appropriate EASY Card.
