About Allapattah
Allapattah serves the neighborhood of the same name, a dense district of warehouses, produce depots and low-rise homes northwest of downtown with a large Dominican and Central American population. The station stands on NW 12th Avenue and is used above all by residents and by people working in the hospital district a couple of stops south. Orange and Green Line trains both stop here, so the weekday wait is around eight minutes.
This is one of the closest stations to Miami International Airport — six minutes on a weekday Orange Line train — while Government Center is nine minutes in the other direction. That airport link changes at weekends, when the Orange Line shrinks to a shuttle between the airport and Earlington Heights and you change there onto the Green Line. Parking is minimal, at 66 spaces, so most riders walk in or arrive by bus.

Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
Allapattah is a working neighborhood rather than a destination, built around the produce warehouses and small factories that still operate near the tracks. Little Santo Domingo, the Dominican commercial strip along NW 17th Avenue, is its best-known stretch, thick with bakeries, botánicas and restaurants. Two stops south is the Civic Center hospital district, with Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami medical campus. Miami International Airport lies west, along the NW 36th Street corridor that runs past the neighborhood.

Very little. The station has a small surface lot of 66 spaces and no garage, so it is not built for park-and-ride use. Most people reach it on foot or by connecting bus.
Ride two stops south to UHealth/Jackson, the station for Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami medical campus. Santa Clara, the stop in between, is two minutes away and also serves the northern edge of the medical district.
Nine minutes to Government Center, where you can change to Metromover for the rest of downtown, Brickell or the arena district. The flat fare is $2.25 one-way.
Both lines serve the station, so on weekdays a train comes about every eight minutes. At weekends only the Green Line runs through, and the gap widens to roughly 20 minutes.
