About Dadeland North
Dadeland North is the system’s big suburban park-and-ride: a garage with 1,963 spaces, the largest on Metrorail, feeding straight onto the platform. It sits beside Dadeland Mall in Kendall, near the southern end of the line, where South Dixie Highway carries most of the traffic between the suburbs and downtown — and it exists largely for drivers who would rather not fight US-1 twice a day.
Both lines stop here, so a train comes about every eight minutes on weekdays and roughly every 20 minutes at weekends. Government Center is 17 minutes north and Miami International Airport 32 minutes away on a weekday. Dadeland South, the end of the line and the start of the South Dade busway toward Homestead, is two minutes further on, while South Miami is two minutes back toward the city.

Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
Dadeland Mall is the obvious neighbor, one of the largest shopping centers in South Florida, with department stores and a food court immediately beside the station. Around it, Kendall is office towers, apartment blocks and the long commercial frontage of South Dixie Highway; greener, residential Pinecrest begins a little further south. The Downtown Dadeland development and the Datran Center offices cluster around Dadeland South, the next stop, where the busway to Homestead and Florida City also begins.

The garage holds 1,963 spaces, more than any other Metrorail station, which is why it is the default choice for drivers coming in from Kendall and the south. Parking is charged separately from the $2.25 train fare.
Yes — the mall sits immediately next to the station, and this is the stop to use for it. Dadeland South, one stop further, is the better choice for the Downtown Dadeland offices and restaurants.
On a weekday, the Orange Line runs straight through from the airport in about 32 minutes. At weekends the Orange Line is only a shuttle between the airport and Earlington Heights, so change there onto a Green Line train for the rest of the trip south.
Dadeland South is the southern terminal, where every train turns back and where the South Dade busway starts. Dadeland North is two minutes before it and has the larger garage, so it is usually the easier one to drive to.
