The clue is in the name: this station serves the University of Miami, standing on Ponce de Leon Boulevard along the eastern edge of the Coral Gables campus. Students, faculty and local commuters make up most of the traffic, and term-time mornings are by far the busiest part of the day. Both the Orange and Green Lines call here, on the stretch of track the two share, so there is no changing to be done — take whichever train arrives first, which on weekdays means a wait of about eight minutes.
Government Center is 13 minutes toward downtown and Miami International Airport is 28 minutes the other way. South Miami is the next stop south, two minutes on, and Douglas Road three minutes back north. The surface lot holds 295 spaces, commissioned public artwork is part of the station, and weekend service thins to a train roughly every 20 minutes.

Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
The University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus begins on the far side of Ponce de Leon Boulevard, and most of what is worth walking to belongs to it: the lake at the center of campus, the Lowe Art Museum and the Watsco Center, where the Hurricanes play basketball. Beyond the university the setting is residential Coral Gables, quiet streets of banyans and single-family homes. For shops and restaurants, many riders simply stay on the train one more stop to South Miami, where the Sunset Drive district sits beside the station.
