About Dadeland South
The southern end of the line is Dadeland South, where both the Orange and Green lines terminate beside the Kendall office district. Every train turns around here, so departures come thick and fast — roughly every eight minutes on a weekday — and there is often a train already waiting on the platform when you arrive.
This is also the system’s largest park-and-ride: a garage of 1,087 spaces plus another 198 surface spaces, filled most weekday mornings by commuters from Kendall, Pinecrest and further south. Buses on the South Dade TransitWay start from the station and carry the journey on toward Homestead and Florida City. Government Center is about nineteen minutes north and the airport around thirty-four, though at weekends that airport trip needs a change at Earlington Heights onto the Orange Line shuttle. Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
Downtown Dadeland wraps around the station: a compact cluster of condo and office towers with restaurants and cafés at street level, one of the few genuinely walkable pockets in this part of Kendall. Dadeland Mall, one of South Florida’s largest shopping centers, lies just north, though its main entrances are closer to Dadeland North station one stop up. Datran Center and the surrounding business towers supply much of the weekday traffic. Past that the area is suburban Kendall — wide roads, low-rise commercial strips and subdivisions that are far easier to reach by bus or car than on foot.

It takes about thirty-four minutes on a weekday, staying on an Orange Line train the whole way. At weekends the Orange Line runs only between Earlington Heights and the airport, so you ride the Green Line to Earlington Heights and change.
