About Santa Clara
Santa Clara is the northern doorway to Miami’s medical district, one stop up NW 12th Avenue from UHealth/Jackson. Orange Line and Green Line trains both use the platform, which is why the typical weekday gap between trains is about eight minutes even though neither line on its own runs that frequently.
Unlike its neighbor to the south, Santa Clara has somewhere to leave a car: a surface lot of 104 spaces, modest by the standards of the outer stations but useful for drivers coming in from Allapattah and the streets north of it. Government Center is roughly seven minutes away and Miami International Airport about eight, making this one of the quickest hops to the airport on the whole system. The station is also part of the county’s Art in Transit program, with artwork built into the structure itself.

Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
Santa Clara straddles the line between the Civic Center hospitals and Allapattah, a long-established working neighborhood known for its Dominican and Central American restaurants, bakeries and produce markets. The wholesale trade around the Miami Produce Center operates in the blocks beside the station, and the northern edge of the Jackson Memorial campus lies just to the south, along with a scattering of county and state offices. Expect residential streets, warehouses and small storefronts rather than landmarks — this is a stop for people with business in the area, not a place to sightsee.
