UHealth/Jackson sits in the middle of Miami’s Civic Center, the dense cluster of hospitals, clinics and medical schools just northwest of downtown. Both the Orange Line and the Green Line call here, so there is no need to check the destination sign before boarding — you take whichever train arrives first, which on a weekday means an average wait of around eight minutes.
Most people passing through the gates are staff, students and patients bound for the surrounding medical campuses, and the platform is at its busiest around shift changes in the early morning and late afternoon. Downtown is closer than the setting suggests: Government Center is about six minutes away, and a train from Miami International Airport reaches the station in roughly nine. There is no parking lot of any kind here, so plan to arrive on foot, by bus or by connecting train.

Orange and Green Line trains both call here on weekdays, so the wait is roughly half what either line shows on its own. At weekends only the Green Line runs through.
Around the station
The station is wrapped in the Civic Center medical district. Jackson Memorial Hospital occupies much of the area, alongside the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Miami VA Medical Center; Holtz Children’s Hospital and the Ryder Trauma Center belong to the same campus. Push a few streets outward and the neighborhood turns residential, with Allapattah to the north and the edge of Overtown to the southeast. This is a working district rather than a sightseeing one — most visitors arriving here have an appointment rather than an itinerary.

Ride the Orange Line east from the airport station; the trip takes about nine minutes. On Saturdays and Sundays the Orange Line runs only as a shuttle between the airport and Earlington Heights, so you change there to a Green Line train to finish the journey.
No. UHealth/Jackson has neither a garage nor a surface lot. Drivers who want to use Metrorail should park at one of the outlying park-and-ride stations and ride in.
